      Good question. There are lots of really cool things in sci-fi, like lightsabres, or holodecks.

      I would choose a Stargate from the film and TV series. It’s a portal that creates a wormhole between two Stargates, allowing you to go anywhere in the universe, as long as there is another gate. You could visit lots of planets instantly that way!

      A teleporter for sure. Scientists are working on teleporters now but they can only teleport a few particles over a certain distance. Full scale teleporters would be great.

      It’s a long-standing debate in the laser community on whether it’s possible to build a lightsaber. That would be cathartic for a lot of people.

      But nah I’m going to say portal gun instead. That’d be much more useful
