So far, I’ve mainly stayed in the UK: Exeter, London, Lancaster, St Andrews. I attended a summer school in Banyuls-Sur-Mer which was amazing, and I’m planning more international travel over the next year for conferences and collaborations.
In my current job, only London. I’ve been to Madrid in Spain and Medellín in Colombia for internships in the past though, and will be heading to Granada in Spain later this year for a conference. I also hope to make it to the USA next year or the year after for a big conference in my field.
I’ve been to Chicago, USA, Oxford and I’ve got a trip to Belgium for a conference in May. I was meant to have been in China in February but that got cancelled for obvious reasons!
I’ve been very lucky and have visited lots of different places. In the UK, I’ve got to visit: Lake Windermere, London, North Berwick, Oxford, North Wales, Warwick, Manchester.
A bit further afield, I’ve been to Rome in Italy, Bangalore in India, San Francisco in the United States, Geneva in Switzerland, Copenhagen in Denmark, Sendai in Japan. I also lived and worked in western Canada for an entire year, which was really fun!
I haven’t travelled much for science yet, my work has all been local to the south of England. All the big lasers are down here. There are various conferences in America and Europe however
I moved to Switzerland but apart from that I have only visited Oxford for a conference. This month I was meant to travel to Lithuania but it was cancelled due to the virus 🙁
